My Saturday Rendezvous

Well this Saturday it did not rain. Thankfully, but the sun and the heat........ Left me strained. Dehydrated and drenched of the natural 'funk' enzymes. Haha, I doubt im making sense, but let me tell you about Saturday the 2 of September!!!

Me and Nikky got up early to finally search for the last two pieces of the Jigsaw Strait Times- A Part Of My Life Contest. Yes we got it the last piece and the clue depicting that the venue was at the esplanade. Duh, it was afterall a picture of the esplanade. So we got up at 7. Ready and all set by 8. We reached the secret venue only known when one found the last piece of the puzzle. First prize was a 60''HD TV. Its too huge...I did not want that. I wanted the 2nd-6th prices, either ones. The vouchers were $5000-$2500 subsequently. That was what I was eyeing for. Haha. Standing under the Huge canopy and surrounded by a lot of people under the blazing hot sun really sucked the energy out of me. Thank god the night before we had dinner with chachi and I bought 2 portable battery charged mini fans. In yellow & green. Haha, my brasil colours. I had one with me and the other is with chachi. That helped me a lot. I could feel the trickle of sweat down my spine. Oh!! We didn't win anything in the end. But still im glad I took part. With Nikky as my companion, we look forward to next year.

We had breakfast at Mac'D... And We each had our own large drinks. Atleast I finished mine. Haha... We then ventured to Marina Boulevard, and afterwards went on to Harvey Norman where we idolised all the pretty candle stands. Onwards to Suntec then. Nikky bought this great jumper in Shocking pink from The LP Zone. All their sweaters/cardigans and jumpers were going for 15 bucks. Only afterwards we realised it was reversible. Haha... Great right!!! I bought new shades!! For 20 bucks. Yeah.....We pretty much dilly dallied in Suntec until we received a call from Simmy. She asked us to join her together with chacha and chachi for lunch at Little India.

The food at the New Outlet of The Banana Leaf Apollo, which is situated at the Little India Arcade, wasnt like before. Its a new outlet, I had Mango Sorbet! Yeah, it was de-li-cious! Haha. Well I was dehydrated right, so I did need to replenish. Nikky whereas had a full meal, only she and chachi did. I was filled to the brink with liquid so I was happy with the sorbet that cost a whopping 7.50. Haha. Aristocratic! After my sorbet lunch, we parted with Nikky who went on to catch up with her friends @ Starbucks.

We had walked up to Mustafa Centre. Where we did more shopping. If you want good and original bollywood remixes then MC is the place to get it from. After atleast 15minutes of pure air conditioning bliss, we made our way to the taxi stand. The cab did come quickly too... Thank goodness.

I was glad I reached home. Energy drained out and pure fatigue was overwhelming. But some how I actually felt great to be home. My energy level actually got a boost, surprisingly! By the time we got home it was around 6. Me and Simmy just relaxed together with Mummy. Then, Papa came back followed by Nikky 2hrs later and then we watch how pathetically Arsenal played. Then at 1110/2311. Someone knocked on the door, my house door of course. It was an Indian man. He muttered something that to my ears sounded like 'Im from the Bangla Association'. Of course I panicked! What crap would the 'bangla association' want with me. Haha... Remember I did stand under a 'heat canopy' for 3hours! My brain was abit slow, I admit. And again, he repeated course he knew I didn't hear him loud and clear because I went 'bangla association', I even turn to Simmy, Mummy and Nikky and said the Bangla Association. So hence I thought one of us must have given a donations or something, God, but this time I heard him. He was from Banana Leaf Apollo. The one in Little India Arcade! And he took out a pink card from his pocket. I was virtually rooted to the ground. My IC in the hands of a man I do not know. Wait, I didn't even realised I had lost it in the first place. I was strucked in awe!!!

I merely uttered a simple thank you. And he left as I pondered and relieved the moments in the restaurant. I had not even taken my wallet out of my bag. Then I remembered, in the morning when me and Nikky had gone to witness the live draw at the esplanade, Nikky had given me my IC so incase I won I wouldn't freak out and find my IC anxiously. So unglamorous right. Haha! Hence it was in my pocket all along. Count my lucky stars I did not drop it at Suntec! Just imagine... Immediately, I emailed a thank you message to the newpaper.
Which was published the very next day.
